Some people bring back to us his Daccordi bike to be restored, other ones make their bike restoration on their own. Sometimes with stunning results, like in this case. Emmanouil from Greece sent us these photos and a little description of the work he did. We think that this bike deserves a place in our magazine.
Bike Restoration Details
“Finally, I got my hands on a beautiful frameset 50th. A few years ago was inspired by your passion and attention to details, and I wanted to give my own touch to this bike.
So I gathered piece by piece a Campagnolo C Record groupset 1 st gen with Cobaltos brakes. I found also a couple of rare retro friction shifters. I cleaned and buffed them hardly. Then I plated all the components with 14k gold. Acquired also a pair of gold 50th Campagnolo rims and laced it up the classic way and stitched my own handlebar leather tape.
Put them all together and what came through was absolutely amazing.
I would like to thank you for that great piece of history and art. Hope to visit your place sometime to admire from up close to your work!!!
Emmanouil”
And we agree with you Emmanouil, the result is absolutely amazing.
