Mannaro represents an evolution in our range and a new challenge. We never imagined creating a carbon gravel bike. Our initial philosophy around gravel was more focused on bike touring rather than competition. Our first models, Alterego and Aurelia, made of steel, embodied this vision: a slightly vintage gravel bike designed for long distances and adventure rides.
Then came Borea Gravel, a more performance-oriented model, but still with the robustness of steel and the lightness of a carbon fork. We were convinced that full carbon was not suited for gravel, as we saw gravel riding as synonymous with exploration, not speed.
But over time, we changed our perspective. We noticed a growing demand for more performance-oriented gravel bikes, capable of tackling mixed terrains with speed and responsiveness. One example that particularly struck us was F1 driver Valtteri Bottas, a big fan of fast gravel riding, which made us rethink the idea that gravel riding could go beyond simple bike touring.
So, we decided to create Mannaro: our first carbon gravel bike, designed for those who seek uncompromising speed and performance. To make the bike more responsive, we opted for a shorter rear triangle, a technical choice that makes it perfect even with road tires, offering great versatility.
However, we haven’t forgotten gravel’s roots. We maintained the ability to mount bags, as we believe gravel riding is always tied to adventure and exploration. Aesthetically, Mannaro stands out with its modern and eye-catching design that doesn’t go unnoticed.
And since gravel also means speed, we integrated an aerodynamic element: the frame, carefully designed to slice through the wind, delivering a smooth and effortless ride even at higher speeds.
With Mannaro, not only have we embraced carbon, but we’ve reinterpreted it to create a gravel bike that strikes the perfect balance between adventure and performance.
