Care your passion

Our bicycles are made to last, however, nothing is forever.
If you want to be satisfied and want your bike to last , you must care of her.
Some advice to follow.

Before riding

Before every ride you must make sure that the wheel releases are closed. If you have taken off and them put on the quick releases, check that the two little springs on the sides are positioned in the correct way. Check the tyres pressure and if necessary add air, especially if you ride with tubulars or tubeless. The bikes with carbon rear dropouts need more attention when disassembled and reassembled.

Washing

Rain, dust, sand and mud contribute to the shortened life span of the bike. Cleaning is fundamental.

Wash your bicycle with specificed products and avoid aggressive chemical agents. We recommend a chain degreaser before washing.  This helps in removing dirt and dust with oil, Clean the frame and other components with a specified shampoo.  Here at Daccordi we love Lady Bike products. Rinse the bicycle with water without pressure (avoid pressure washers) and in then spray with a protective 2-component product. If you have rim brakes, care must be given in cleaning the components and the braking surfaces of your wheels.

Our steel frames are treated with an anti-rust solution, however, the bike must be dried after every wash and should not be left in the rain at any time. Periodically chrome parts must be cleaned with a non-abrasive microfiber towel.

Don’t leave your bike in the sun because prematurely age the paint.

All mechanical parts and the chain must be well oiled. Remember that the oil must be between the chain links and not outside of them.  After oiling the chain the external surface of the chain itself should be cleaned with   a clean towel. We recommend only using specific bicycle products adapted for the various climates. Use “wet oil” or “dry oil” made by LadyBike, depending on the weather conditions. Remember that not using specific oils or greases for cycling can seriously damage your bicycle.

Mechanical Maintenance

If you have the skills needed to check the mechanical components of your bike by yourself, ok, however we recommend a  visit periodically to a professional mechanic.

Every component, even the most reliable, may break down or unscrew. Check your brakes if they are mechanic or hydraulic – every six months. Shock absorbers, transmission and gear systems should be checked more frequently. Never underestimate the dangers of not regularly checking components like pedals, stems or headsets. For the most important screws we recommend a torque wrench.

Some Daccordi bicycles provide specific tools in case of emergency. These tools are to be used for simple maintenance and fast checks. They are not to be considered a complete kit for the maintenance of the bike.

Extra Maintenance

If you hear unusual sounds or feel strange vibrations during a ride have the bike inspected by a professional mechanic.

If you see a rift on the frame send pictures directly to our email address and we will explain the process in order to verify the solidity of the structure.

If unfortunately the bike was in a collision it could result in internal damage of the frame, especially if made of carbon fiber. In this case our advice is to contact us to arrange a  full check of your frame at our factory.

The paint can influence the structure of some materials, compromising the resistance of the structure. For this reason paint not made by Daccordi voids the bike’s warranty.
