A custom 26″ road bike. There are pros and cons about a 26″ road bike. It can be a brave choice. Sometimes it is a forced choice due to its size.
Obviously, The pros are a smaller size, therefore, greater handling and lightness for a person of a stature who requires a 26″ road bike.
The cons are mainly the limited availability of 26″ wheels. They are pretty rare on the market and do not offer many qualities. The same thing can be said for 26″ tires and tubulars.
or this bike we used Columbus Altec 2 tubes. The mechanical characteristics of this light aluminium alloy are enhanced by the heat treatment after welding. The maximum values of mechanical resistance and resistance to fatigue can be obtained. Altec2 pipes are reliable and long-lasting when properly welded and treated. Then we mounted a carbon fork, which makes the bike particularly light.
We rarely make 26″ bikes. Most requests come from Japan, where the average height of the population is slightly shorter, and some riders prefer to ride bikes with smaller wheels. We sometimes build 26″ bikes for women riders. In the case of the bike in these photos, the cyclist who will use it is a kid, a budding new cyclist!
